Growing up on the water’s edge and spending most of his life on various coastlines, led Peter to a lifelong fascination with water, particularly the ocean. A childhood impulse to somehow interpret his watery surroundings, brought about his first attempts at river scenes and seascapes. Later he continued with mostly commissioned seascapes done in pastel on Canson paper, eventually progressing to oil on canvas paintings. Photographic records of much of his earlier work were seldom taken, were of bad quality or have unfortunately gone missing. The following oil paintings were selected from seascapes completed between 2001 and 2006.
